A gift from our friends Field Works is always a good idea, because you can find something truly local and small-batch. Although the maker of Truck & Barter no-longer resides here, this brand is a Petaluman at heart! There are lots of delicious scents to choose from, in both diffuser and candles. My top pick is the Cedar & Tobacco Reed Diffuser which is available for purchase from Field Works for $38. This is a great deal, given that the scent will last 6-9 month, making this a gift that keeps on giving.
I am still in absolute awe of the gorgeous quick winged and colorful hummingbirds around Petaluma. We have some wonderful birds back home, don't get me wrong, but Australian birds are loud, large... nothing quite this cute and small! I fully support the purchase of a hummingbird feeder from REX Ace Hardware, so that all the Mom’s can enjoy the simple pleasure of watching these tiny delightful birds. For Mom’s who prefer great graphics, superheroes and powerful female lead characters over a novel, Brian’s Comics has an excellent selection of comic books ‘for all fankind’. My pick is the new release “The Many Deaths of Laila Starr” from Boom Studios which is available in store for $3.99. You might also be lucky enough to see Brian's very cute dog!
