Angarf
Woven by the indigenous Berber people for thousands of years, they possess a functional purpose of warmth for their homes and offer a shield from harm. The loom represents magical protection while the sheep’s wool is viewed as a symbol of luck; the knock of the hammer combs ward off the evil eye while the weaver herself is on the lookout that evil does not enter between the threads. The women who weave these beautiful rugs have no artistic training as the art form is passed down through generations. Similarly, the extensive symbolism used in each piece represents the family lineage and story. We are fortunate to be able to adorn our homes with these time-enduring works of art.
Each rug is unique and therefore may have slight variations from the photograph depiction.
